Bowles Rice Elects New Partners

Charleston, West VirginiaBowles Rice LLP has elected and proudly announces two new equity partners and one new non-equity partner, effective January 1, 2026. Their nominations were approved at the firm’s annual year-end partner meeting in December 2025.

The two attorneys elected to equity partnership are:

  • Lindsay M. Gainer, who focuses her practice on labor and employment issues and related litigation. She has experience in pre-trial litigation and motion practice, and has represented clients in construction, insurance, and commercial litigation. From 2012 to 2015, Gainer served as a law clerk for the Honorable Thomas C. Evans, III of West Virginia's Fifth Judicial Circuit. Gainer practices from the firm’s Charleston, West Virginia office.
  • Joshua A. Lanham, who concentrates his practice on construction disputes; coal, oil, and gas litigation; banking litigation; estate and trust litigation; bad faith and coverage litigation; and personal injury defense. His work also includes defending complex claims and protecting businesses and individuals in matters that directly impact their operations and reputations. Lanham practices from the firm’s Charleston, West Virginia office.

The attorney elected to non-equity partnership is:

  • Michael R. Proctor, who focuses his practice in the areas of creditors’ rights and bankruptcy, election law, and commercial law. His experience includes representing banks, construction companies, elected officials, and other large and small companies throughout the region. Admitted in West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, Proctor practices from the firm’s office in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.
