Bowles Rice Welcomes Peter Markham to Charleston Office
CHARLESTON, West Virginia – Bowles Rice is pleased to welcome Peter Markham, former General Counsel and Deputy Chief of Staff to West Virginia Governor Earl Ray Tomblin, to its Charleston office.
Peter G. Markham focuses his legal practice on corporate governance and commercial transactions, civil litigation and government relations.
Before joining Bowles Rice, Peter served in the Tomblin administration from 2012 to 2017, advising on legal and policy matters involving federal and state law, the West Virginia budget, ethics, procurement and crisis management. He served as chairman of the School Building Authority of West Virginia and the West Virginia Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council and assisted in the Governor's selection of more than 20 circuit and family court judges as a member of the Judicial Vacancy Advisory Commission.
Peter received his legal education at The London School of Economics and the West Virginia University College of Law. He earned his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from Virginia Tech. He received a trial advocacy certification in 2008 at the National Trial Advocacy College, University of Virginia College of Law.
