Thomas Francke

Associate

Thomas Francke is an associate attorney in the firm’s Charleston, West Virginia office. He is a member of the firm’s Tax Team and has experience in commercial and business law as well as estate planning, trusts and wills, and related work.

Thomas’s work since joining the firm involves multiple areas of practice, including mergers and acquisitions; entity formations and terminations; corporate governance; ERISA and tax compliance for employee benefits plans and executive compensation; and more. He regularly assists clients with estate planning and the drafting of trusts, wills and powers of attorney. He also advises clients on issues related to NCAA Name, Image, and Likeness laws and agreements.

Prior to joining the firm, Thomas served as an assistant clerk at the West Virginia Supreme Court Clerk’s Office. In that role, he reviewed notices of appeals and motions, drafted amendments to the West Virginia Rules of Appellate Procedure, and more.

Thomas received a Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.) degree from the Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. While earning his law degree from Tulane Law School, Thomas served as a member of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Clinic and Managing Editor of The Sports Lawyers Journal. For his undergraduate degree, Thomas attended West Virginia University.
