Associate

Karly King is an associate attorney who practices from the firm’s Morgantown, West Virginia office. A former summer associate, she focuses her practice on litigation and is a member of the firm’s Construction Group. Karly has experience handling commercial, real estate, and construction disputes, insurance defense matters, landlord-tenant proceedings, and a broad range of civil and criminal cases. She also assists both county board and institutions of higher education in litigation and related matters.

Karly earned her law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law, where she served as a Citation Teaching Assistant and a Student Liaison Board Member for the West Virginia Judicial Lawyer Assistance Program (WVJLAP). She received her undergraduate degrees from the University of Charleston, graduating summa cum laude with dual bachelor’s degrees in business administration and political science.

A West Virginia native, Karly is deeply committed to supporting the legal profession and the communities it serves. In May 2023, she was appointed by then-Chief Justice Elizabeth Walker to serve on the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals’ Taskforce on Lawyer Wellbeing. She also serves as a Board Member for LAP, Inc., the nonprofit organization that administers the WVJLAP, which provides confidential assistance and support to judges, lawyers, and law students facing substance use, mental health, and related challenges. Karly also serves the community through her work as a board member of the Monongalia County’s Child Advocacy Center (MCCAC), a member of the Monongalia County Bar Association, an active Legal Aid volunteer, and is a member of the firm’s Bowles Cares Committee.
