Will Lorensen is an associate in our firm’s Charleston, West Virginia office with extensive and hands-on experience in complex and mass litigation.

Will has years of experience as national counsel defending a Fortune 500 company in thousands of lawsuits brought in state and federal court across the country.  In this capacity, Will spearheads client compliance with nationwide discovery obligations in the age of electronic discovery.  Will has litigated issues across the country pertaining to the preservation, collection and searching of ESI. Will’s experience has given him unique insight to the needs of clients and national counsel facing the burden and complexity of multi-district litigation.  Will also has also defended class actions brought in federal court, both at the trial court level and on appeal.  In addition, Will has both prosecuted and defended complex claims on behalf of government bodies, energy and utility companies, construction companies, and other industries.  Will’s experience has led to favorable results when stakes are highest.

In addition to his experience at Bowles Rice, Will served as a law clerk to the Honorable Stephanie D. Thacker at the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Honorable Frank W. Volk at the Southern District of West Virginia. Will earned his law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law, where he was an editor and published author of the West Virginia Law Review and earned distinctions in Trial and Appellate Advocacy.
