Associate

Ashlyn Dolly is an attorney in the Morgantown office of Bowles Rice, where she focuses her practice on energy law, oil and natural gas law, real estate, and energy-related litigation.

A Hampshire County native — the oldest county in West Virginia — Ashlyn grew up with a deep appreciation for the land and the role it plays in shaping communities. That interest developed into a passion for property and land use issues, which continues to guide her legal career.

Today, Ashlyn represents clients in a wide range of energy and real property matters. Her experience includes handling quiet title, declaratory judgment, and partition actions; conducting due diligence title work; and drafting title opinions, deeds, easements, and related documents. She also assists individuals and families with estate planning and administration, including the preparation of wills, powers of attorney, and other estate-related documents.

While in law school, Ashlyn gained practical experience through the Land Use and Sustainable Development Clinic at West Virginia University College of Law, where she advised local governments on zoning, comprehensive planning, and other land-related issues. She also researched emerging property concerns, such as telecommunications infrastructure, and conducted title searches to support client transactions.

Ashlyn earned her J.D. from the West Virginia University College of Law, where she served as Treasurer of the Women’s Leadership Council Student Chapter and was an active member of the Veterans and Military Advocacy Group. She received her bachelor’s degree in political science, magna cum laude, from West Virginia University.
