Abraham “Abe” Sellers practices from the firm’s Marietta, Ohio office, focusing primarily on real estate and business and corporate law. With nearly 30 years of experience, Abe represents businesses, property owners, developers, and other clients in transactional matters and disputes involving real property, commercial interests, contractual negotiations, and natural resources.
A significant portion of Abe’s practice is devoted to complex commercial transactions with an emphasis in real estate. He routinely counsels companies involved in real estate negotiations in industries such as manufacturing, hospitality, and professional service. Abe advises clients on matters involving the acquisition, sale, ownership, development, and use of real property, and assists businesses and individuals in navigating the legal issues that arise in connection with real estate transactions and property interests.
His experience in both transactional matters and litigation gives him a practical perspective on identifying potential issues, resolving disputes, and helping clients protect their real estate investments.
Abe also maintains an active role in oil and gas and construction matters. An experienced appellate advocate, he has appeared and argued on multiple occasions before the Supreme Court of Ohio, the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, and Ohio’s Fourth and Seventh District Courts of Appeals.
In his business practice, Abe advises companies on a variety of commercial and operational matters and draws on his litigation experience to help clients anticipate and manage risk. His work in the oil and gas industry complements his real estate practice, particularly where matters involve property, mineral, and related business interests.
Abe has practiced in Marietta since 1997. He earned his Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and his Bachelor of Science in Economics, summa cum laude, from Ohio University.
Abe is admitted to practice in Ohio and West Virginia, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia.
