10 Bowles Rice Attorneys Named 2014 Best Lawyers “Lawyers of the Year”

August 21, 2013

The newly released 2014 edition of Best Lawyers in America® recognizes 10 Bowles Rice attorneys as "Lawyers of the Year."

The 10 Bowles Rice partners were named in nine different practice areas across three geographic regions. Five of the firm's attorneys were recognized in areas related to litigation and two in energy-related areas.

Charleston attorneys Lynn S. Clarke, F. Thomas Graff Jr., J. Thomas Lane and Gerard R. Stowers were selected as "Lawyers of the Year," for southern West Virginia.  Ms. Clarke was named for her work in Employee Benefits (ERISA) Law. Mr. Graff was recognized in Administrative/Regulatory Law. Mr. Lane was honored for Oil and Gas Law, and Mr. Stowers was named for Legal Malpractice Law - Defendants.

Martinsburg lawyers Michael E. Caryl (Litigation and Controversy - Tax), Stephen M. Mathias (Litigation - Real Estate) and Charles F. Printz, Jr. (Litigation - Construction) were each named "Lawyers of the Year" in litigation-related practices for northern West Virginia.

Gregory W. Bailey (Education Law) and C. Seth Wilson (Energy Law), of the firm's Morgantown office, were also recognized in the northern West Virginia region.

Lexington attorney Timothy C. Wills was honored for Litigation - Construction.

Only a single lawyer in each practice area and designated metropolitan area is honored as the "Lawyer of the Year," making this accolade particularly significant.

Receiving this designation reflects the high level of respect a lawyer has earned among other leading lawyers in the same communities and the same practice areas for their abilities, their professionalism and their integrity.

Bowles Rice is a regional law firm with more than 135 attorneys and eight offices.  Firmwide, 54 lawyers were named to the 2014 edition of Best Lawyers in America® in more than 50 practice areas.
