Bowles Rice Welcomes Two New Attorneys
CHARLESTON, West Virginia – Bowles Rice LLP is pleased to welcome two new attorneys to its Charleston office.
J. Berkeley Bentley, a graduate of West Virginia University College of Law, joins the firm’s Commercial and Financial group. His practice includes assisting and advising clients in commercial and corporate transactional matters encompassing every phase of the business life cycle, from startup counseling through mergers, acquisitions, and sales of assets.
During his legal education, Bentley was chair of the WVU College of Law Ethics Council, served as Executive Article Selection & Symposium Editor for West Virginia Law Review, Volume 118, and worked as a legal research and teaching assistant. He also holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English, political science and history from West Virginia University.
Anne C. O’Brien is a member of the firm’s Tax team, assisting individuals and businesses with income tax and estate tax-related matters including entity formation and selection and estate planning, trusts and wills.
O’Brien earned her law degree from the University of Pittsburgh, where she received the Dean’s scholarship. She served as Senior Development Editor for the school’s Journal of Environmental and Public Health Law and as a teaching assistant in legal research and writing. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and is proficient in Spanish and French.
