Real Estate Abstractor Legal Assistant – Martinsburg, West Virginia
Bowles Rice LLP, an established law firm with offices throughout West Virginia, and in Virginia and Pennsylvania, has an opening in its Martinsburg and Winchester office locations for a talented and enthusiastic employee to perform real estate title abstracting and legal support work. Under the direction of an attorney, the Abstractor Legal Assistant conducts searches of public records and examines titles, and summarizes information with regards to deeds, leases and other documents. Additional duties include the preparation of documents and settlement statements, managing the residential closing schedule, file management, and interaction with lenders, real estate agents, buyers and sellers.
Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills; organizational skills; computer skills; attention to detail, as well as the ability to convey information effectively; and work efficiently with a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment. Ability to multi-task and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) required. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong logical reasoning and problem-solving skills and the ability to work as a team, learn new skills and retain information.
Experience in and a broad-based knowledge of commercial and residential real estate matters is preferred. Travel required. A valid driver’s license and personal transportation are necessary.
