Parker B. McCray is a Special Investigator with the firm. He retired from Verizon West Virginia Inc. with 32 years of service. At the time of his retirement, Pete was serving in the Executive Department as Special Assistant to the President, managing 911 issues and litigation. After retiring from Verizon and prior to joining the firm, he served CFW Wireless, Inc. as its first West Virginia Regional Operations Manager. In that capacity, he established the West Virginia operations of NTELOS, a major PCS and CLEC provider in the West Virginia market. During his telephone company career, Pete worked in Network Operations, in both West Virginia and Group Headquarters Companies, in line management and staff methods and training assignments. He also served in the Internal Auditing and Security Organizations in the Comptrollers, now Finance Department, before serving in the Legal Department as the Claims and Litigation Manager for 18 years.
During his years in the former Bell Atlantic Legal Department, Pete managed the handling of general liability (property damage and personal injury), motor vehicle (property damage and personal injury), billing and collections for damage to telephone company property and motor vehicles, and workers’ compensation and unemployment compensation claims. He assisted the Associate General Counsel on regulatory, contract, leasing, real estate, right-of-way, special use permits and other issues. He was also responsible for bonding, excess liability insurance and self insurance.
Pete is a founder of the North American Telecommunications Claims Association and is currently serving the Scottish Rite as Degree Master of the 32nd Degree. He is also a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 159, the West Virginia State Police Promotion Board and the Telephone Pioneers of America Life Member Club.
