To fulfill our commitment to providing our clients with the highest quality legal representation in the most cost-effective manner, we have incorporated state-of-the-art technology into our practice of law.
Our goal is to enhance communication and cooperation among our six offices, thereby overcoming the obstacle of distance through cutting-edge computer technology. We provide the necessary resources for our attorneys and clients. We have a pentium based wide area network (WAN) utilizing point-to-point T-1's linking our offices in West Virginia, Virginia, and Kentucky. From desktop personal computers and laptops, our staff can fax, conduct on-line legal research, contact individual clients on-line, have centralized CD-rom access, send electronic mail and use the Internet to complement research and communication. We also have a private telephone network which links our offices with local phone service at no charge to the client.
We were the first major West Virginia law firm to have a home page on the Internet, providing up-to-date information about our firm and the law, with client and professional links on our site.
Our Technology Information Services department is staffed by a Programmer, a Systems Analyst, a Hardware/Software Technician and a Software Training Coordinator. Our training room serves as a continuous learning center for our attorneys and staff.
Our dictation and computer systems allow remote access from home and from other off-site locations, allowing lawyers to stay in direct contact with our clients and the resources in all of our offices. These capabilities are designed to provide speedy, high-quality, cost-effective legal services, and to enhance efficient and effective communication.
We have also incorporated video conferencing capabilities to link our offices and connect us to the world. Video conferencing provides an opportunity for more personal and effective meetings among lawyers and clients, eliminating excessive travel expenses. In addition, our video network allows attorneys from five of our locations to meet and work directly with our clients. We are certified with all major long-distance carriers and we also have our own multi-channel unit to provide firm-wide multi-point video calls.
