Bowles Rice recognizes that an environment rich in diversity greatly assists our firm in delivering quality services to our clients. We recruit, develop and promote our attorneys and support professionals without regard to race, religion, color, age, gender, ancestry, national origin, sexual orientation, disability or marital status. We strive to promote an inclusive environment respecting and valuing both the differences and similarities in the perspectives of our team members.
Consistent with our mission, we have steadily increased the number of women and minority attorneys in practice and group management, executive leadership and other firm governance.
We provide career development opportunities for women and minority attorneys in local and state leadership programs, including a key role in the
Diversity Leadership Academy of Charleston, West Virginia. We plan formal and informal social and other activities to promote mentoring of women and minority attorneys. We have expanded the number and geographic locations of law schools from which we recruit, and in the process, have increased the diversity of candidates interviewed. We continue to provide a variety of family-friendly alternative work arrangements for lawyers of our firm.
Our attorneys and support professionals also participate in a wide range of business, civic, charitable, political and educational organizations and endeavors which promote inclusiveness and diversity.
