Title Abstractor

Bowles Rice McDavid Graff & Love, LLP, an established law firm with offices throughout the Appalachian Basin, is searching for a talented and enthusiastic employee to abstract complex titles in North Central West Virginia

Under the direction of an attorney, the Title Abstractor conducts searches of public records and examines titles, and summarizes information with regards to deeds, leases and other documents.  An experienced Title Abstractor may also supervise other title abstractors.

Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills; organizational skills; computer skills; attention to detail, as well as the ability to convey information effectively; and work efficiently with a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment.  Ability to multi-task and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and platting programs (NetDeed Plotter, etc.) required.  Successful candidates will demonstrate strong logical reasoning and problem solving skills and the ability to learn new skills and retain information. 

Experience in abstracting mineral titles and a broad-based knowledge of  real estate matters is required.  Travel required. A valid driver’s license and personal transportation are necessary.

Legal Secretary

Bowles Rice McDavid Graff & Love, LLP, an established law firm with offices throughout West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Kentucky, is opening its Canonsburg, Pennsylvania office.  An energetic and self-motivated employee is needed for general office and secretarial work.

Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills; computer skills; attention to detail; the ability to learn readily and work efficiently with a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment.  Duties include maintaining calendars, drafting, maintaining and researching documents, general office responsibilities and providing excellent customer service.  Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) required.  Successful candidates will demonstrate strong logical reasoning and problem solving skills and the ability to learn new skills and retain information.  A broad-based knowledge of real estate matters is a plus.
